Empowering Dad’s to Live a life by their Design, to connect Dad’s with other like-minded Dad’s. With a focus on Mateship to support them to live their best lives.
Our goal is to make you feel better as quickly as possible.
Where do I start?
I’ve been blessed in so many ways, with incredible experiences, a loving family, and lifelong mates. But not every moment has been easy.
There were times of loneliness, isolation, and a loss of sense of belonging, especially in my younger years. However, I met my best mate32 years ago when I was feeling lost and met two more great mates 30 years ago. The memories we’ve made together are priceless. It feels like yesterday.
But in 2018, just before the pandemic hit, everything changed. I’d been in my career for over 20 years, a job that gave me purpose, income, and provided for my family. However, the passion faded.
I started feeling isolated again.
I lost my sense of belonging and the drive to be the best version of myself. I didn’t want to be someone I wasn’t. I felt like I was stuck in a role that didn’t fit, and the weight of not being understood was crushing.
People told me to go talk to someone, but that wasn’t what I needed. What I yearned for was connection, belonging, and purpose. So, I acted.
I didn’t know exactly where to turn, but I knew I needed to reach out. I went to see a medium—a psychic, if you will. And I know this may sound a bit out there but hear me out. It wasn’t about woo-woo stuff—it was about listening to the universe. The medium helped me connect with my guides, who were grateful that I was finally ready to listen.
The universe has a way of guiding us, showing us the path, and putting the right people and experiences in our lives. If you’re on the wrong path, it will steer you right—if you’re open to it.
What I learned was this: I was being guided to hold space for men to share their stories, their journeys. Whether it’s around a camp fire or a table, connection is key. Men need to find their “three”—three like-minded guys who give them that sense of belonging and mate ship.
When we find our three, we’re part of something bigger and better.
That’s when I met a bunch of blokes on a Friday morning at sunrise at Mooloolaba Beach. We were having a burger and coffee, just chatting. That sense of community and connection hit me hard. It lifted my spirits, and I knew I wanted to support this movement. It’s not just about mental health—it’s about mate ship.
Mate ship is powerful because, at our core, we’re human beings, not human doings.
We’re here to have a human experience, to be, not just go through the motions of doing. When we get caught up in the grind, slaving away to put food on the table, but lack true connection with our mates and loved ones, we become “human doings.” that’s when things fall apart. That’s when our physical health suffers, our mental well-being takes a hit.
We need mate ship.
We need connection.
That’s why I’m passionate about Grab Life by the Balls—because it’s about more than surviving; it’s about truly living.
If you are Bloke and you don’t have 3 or more close mates, Come and say G’Day at one grablifebytheballs.com.au social connections.
Despite living in a society with access to health resources, men are struggling disproportionately with issues like:
Loneliness: The silent killer; a lack of deep connections affects mental and physical health.
Loss of Identity: Shifting societal roles leave men questioning their purpose.
Lack of Worth: Pressures to provide or succeed to lead to feelings of inadequacy.
Social Media Comparison: The curated perfection of others exacerbates feelings of failure.
Stress and Crisis Management: Many men are unequipped to deal major life challenges.
Not Talking: Societal conditioning to man up and bottle feelings.
External Expectations: Societal and cultural pressures to be strong, successful, and always positive.
Isolation: Social isolation is as detrimental as smoking 15 cigarettes a day.
These issues compound, leading to higher rates of disease, lower access to support services, and tragically, higher male suicide rates.
The Solution: Taking Action, Building Mate ship
Raising awareness alone is not enough. The solution lies inaction:
Empower and Educate: Equip men with tools, strategies, and support systems to take control of their well-being.
Connection and Matship: Build meaningful relationships that foster trust, accountability, and resilience.
Inspire Purpose: Help men discover their own version of a Fullfilling life.
Practical, Laid-Back Support: Create spaces where men can be themselves and have open, stigma-free conversations.
Grab Life by the Balls
This powerful mantra encourages men to step up and live their best life. It’s not just about raising awareness; it’s about Taking Responsibility:
Personal Accountability: Every man has the power to reach out, step up, and move forward.
Action-Oriented Approach: Inspire men to actively work on improving their lives through Mateship, purpose, and community.
Mateship Micro Breaks: Regular, laid-back events like BBQs, paddling trips, or camping weekends create opportunities for connection and reflection.
The Benefits of Mateship
Strong social connections, specifically with 3 or more close mates, have profound benefits:
1. Longevity: Men with meaningful relationships live longer and healthier lives.
2. Mental and Physical Health: Connection improves both mental resilience and physical health.
3. Aussie Spirit: Mateship embraces the quintessential Australian stereotype of camaraderie and helping each other through adversity.
4. Support for Blokes: Men are more likely to embrace help and support that feels designed for them.
The Grab Life Mateship Movement
Mateship, by definition, thrives in adversity. The Grab Life by the Balls Movement tackles the stigma surrounding men’s mental health through action, connection, and laid-back events. By creating communities of support and showing men they’re not alone, we can help them live their version of a great life.
The mission is clear: Through mateship, purpose, and a no-BS approach, we empower men to take control, find connection, and thrive.

There’s a serious issue happening with Men’s Health!
Suicide rates are at their highest, currently 7 out 9 Suicides in Australia are Men.
For us at Blokes Micro Breaks, we believe Mateship is the answer and according to the Australian Men’s Health Forum (AMHF) Mateship is one of the best things men can do for their Physical & Mental health.
We’ve teamed up with Grab Life by the Balls to provide Men a place where they can connect with other like minded men to form life long friendship.
Man Facts
Mateship increases quality of life and longevity by 50%
With busy lives we lead to keep a roof over our families head and food on the table. Mateship gets put on the back burner.
“Lets catch up next month, which then becomes once a year then every 2nd year and fades off into the distance.
Its important to STOP and breathe and hang out with mates. Listening is a superpower and the more we listen, the more we learn. Mateship weekends support this, men connect and get stuff off their chest better than what they can do with their partners and or family.
Having fun camping, fishing, playing some sort of sport, sitting around the campfire or catching a few waves together.
Is what nature intended for us

Creating regular Men’s groups where blokes can come and meet new Like minded mates, is what we are about.
The below is an incredible story, (not my story, but one which is pretty close to the reality of most men) and one which I believe happens in every household.

Love What Matters

“I was tired. I was irritated. I had sent my husband a text telling him that I knew it wouldn't make a difference, but I wanted him to know that I was feeling fed up with how much he works and with all that I have to do everyday by myself.
The full time job, cooking dinner, bathing kids, weekend trips without him, keeping up a home, you name it I was resenting it. I have to have these little moments once (ok several times) throughout planting and harvest season. Then this happened.
He came in, fixed his plate and sat down to eat all alone. He was tired. He was hot. He was exhausted. Rather than complain, he said he was sorry I was tired and felt that way. Charlotte joined him and talked his head off and even ate most of his dinner.
He didn't complain. He shared, and it hit me. Do I wish that we saw him more than an hour or so a day? Yes. But, the love he has for his craft is something to envy. Farmers work in a thankless profession. It's always non GMO this and organic that, and let's not even talk about the stress from Mother Nature.
This is a man who is working to uphold 4 generations of blood sweat and tears and showing his children the value of hard work and discipline. So while I felt frustrated, I really should have felt thankful. I got to sit down to dinner and hear all the stories from the day with the kids.
I got to give them a bath and hear their squeals and giggles. I got to snuggle and love on them for 3 hours more than he did. He is the one sacrificing, not me. We will keep on keeping on until the next rainy day when we get a few extra hours with our hard worker.
In the meantime, the next time you slip into that comfy cotton shirt or eat delicious farm fresh food, thank a farmer. Where would we be without them?"
My Legacy
To be of service to men to combine Gratitude along with Mateship to Grab Life by the balls.
I solely believe to be a balanced Bloke in in these modern times Regular Micro breaks for some self care and just hanging out with mates is so important to be able to show up as the best version of ourselves.
So we can continue to support the ones we love. Far too many men are choosing to check out on life. Due to financial, relationship, parenting and work stress. Choosing to use substances to get through their day. I love nothing more than connecting men with other like minded men who share common values and hobbies and likes.
A true self care routine is critical To really improve your physical and mental health and live longer lives. Doing those fun things we love, creates true health. Gratitude plays a big role.
Being grateful for who you are and all you’ve achieve and also knowing that who you have true mates in your corner, knowing that they are there to support you in those tough times and celebrate with you in those wins.
Blokes Micro Breaks we aim to be a collective energy of men. With a better choice is to support others to aim and achieve their goals and dreams . We all deserve to dream
